The ice cream category thrives on novelties and the translation of strong and popular brands into delicious ice cream flavours is particularly popular. "Our portfolio reflects the fact that consumers like to buy ice cream brands that they already know and love from other categories. We therefore focus on a coherent overall package of brand, quality and product promise and are certain that this meets our customers' expectations. With Landliebe and Almdudler, we are adding two strong brands this year that perfectly complement our portfolio," explains Maximilian Curth, Director Marketing & Business Development for the Ice Cream Division.
New licensed products and ongoing exclusive partnership
With Landliebe ice cream, DMK is bringing a brand that is particularly popular with families into the ice cream cabinets of retailers this season. Made with lots of fresh cream, yoghurt and selected fruit, the ice cream also guarantees the unmistakable Landliebe flavour. It also brings back childhood memories of summer in the countryside. The ice cream is available in six delicious flavours in a tub (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, blueberry, cherry and apricot) and as a stick ice cream in a practical multi-pack in the flavours strawberry cream yoghurt with crunchy milk chocolate and apricot cream yoghurt with white chocolate.
The second new licence in the portfolio is the Almdudler brand, the popular and well-known Alpine herbal lemonade from Austria. The first bottle of Almdudler was a wedding present from inventor Erwin Klein to his wife Ingrid in 1957. Now the unique flavour experience is also available as a refreshing water ice ‘Alm am Stiel’ and comes in a practical multipack. Not only the eye-catching packaging design is unmistakable, but also the unique original Almdudler flavour.
The exclusive distribution partnership between the DMK Group and General Mills, a global leader in the food industry, for Häagen-Dazs ice cream products in Germany will also be continued this year. As the sole sales and distribution partner for German retailers, the DMK Ice Cream business unit is responsible for Häagen-Dazs' comeback in German supermarkets.
All new products can be found in the ice cream cabinets of retailers with immediate effect and can be sampled at the start of the season.
